Friends and colleagues,

It is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 4^th World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR), to be held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam from 26-28 August, 2009. 

In line with the theme of "ICT for Sustainable Development", WITFOR 2009 will comprise of 7 plenary and 32 parallel sessions, focusing on issues to help achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals and to contribute to the implementation of the Action Plan of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). We hope that the Forum would be an excellent platform to promote global ICT collaboration, with the participation of ICT Ministers, senior policy-makers, international organizations, UN agency representatives, NGOs, academics, ICT experts and the private sector.

Particularly, WITFOR 2009 will streamline our concerted efforts on harnessing ICT for development by promoting public-private partnership. Under the 3-day program, participants will have specific opportunities to network and dialogue with high ranking ICT officials of industry and the Government of Viet Nam, in parallel with ICT exhibitions and road shows.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to Ha Noi in August 2009. I am confident that with your support and participation, WITFOR 2009 would significantly foster the use of ICT for sustainable development and promote our cooperation.
